An easy to use online brand resource

TalkTalk

We have worked with TalkTalk on a number of internal communications initiatives over the past few years. As with any company they face a continual challenge to ensure that their brand message is kept consistent – regardless of which department or external resource is producing the piece.

The TalkTalk brand team approached us to help them create a solution that would enable them to solve this challenge.

Our approach

We wanted to create an online environment that would not only be simple to use but also be enjoyable to use. We have used many different identity guides in our time so were able to put that experience to good use in planning the ideal brand resource.

One location
The first thing we did was to plan a navigation structure that would cater for the different needs of various users. We ensured that the information they needed would always be to hand as well as providing useful links to other relevant items. This enabled us to centralise all of TalkTalk’s resources including brand and messaging guidelines as well as all downloadable assets.

Secure access
The system enabled only relevant TalkTalk employees and suppliers to access the site. We built a system whereby access rights are maintained and distributed by TalkTalk.

An easy to use asset library
To avoid the brand team distributing brand assets manually we developed an asset library to facilitate employees and suppliers downloading assets themselves. To make the site easier to use we implemented shopping basket functionality so that users could add assets to their basket before downloading a compressed file of everything they needed when ready. We also incorporated a “copy to clipboard” feature that allowed users to easily cut and paste pieces of standard brand copy into their documents.

The results

The new Brand Hub has been a great success and has dramatically reduced the amount of time spent by the internal team explaining the TalkTalk brand to employees and suppliers. They now simply point them to ‘The Brand Hub’.
Due to the success of the project TalkTalk are now looking to roll out the Brand Hub for other parts of the business.
