Objectives
The Kiss brand is synonymous with cutting edge dance music in all forms, and the summer festival season offered Kiss the opportunity to showcase the very best acts playing across top British festivals, as well as the best sets from Ibiza’s world famous clubs. Clicked were tasked with creating a site where music fans could come all summer long to check out news, video, competitions and from the top festivals.

The Kiss Does Summer site had to be able to evolve throughout the summer, with a flexible content structure and design look and feel that would be varied, dynamic and changeable (like the British weather). This would help to ensure that users would come back on a regular basis to check out fresh content.

Solution
The key considerations in creating the Kiss Does Summer website were flexibility and impact. Clicked designed the CMS to allow for multiple types of content that Kiss wanted displayed; including up-to-the minute editorial, video, discussion boards and multiple news streams that would run across the sites. It was therefore important to design the site architecture in such a way that that returning users would find familiar and easy to navigate.

The challenge from a design perspective was to evolve the site design for each festival, focussing on capturing the individual ‘personality’ of each event, very much from a Kiss brand perspective. Clicked decided to use a universal Kiss Does Summer homepage where users could explore by rolling over the specific event tabs. The homepage graphics would alter according to the festival’s unique look that the user rolled over. Fans could then click on the tab to springboard into a specific festival site for more content. For example, if a user chose ‘Gatecrasher’, they would be taken through to the Kiss Does Gatecrasher site which would have a completely different look to ‘Kiss Does Escape’. This allowed Clicked to keep the site fresh and dynamic; making sure that the fans hitting the site regularly had a fresh and funky design to greet them.
